The representative of the Dépôt Art
Gallery and editor of the exhibition Philippos Vazakas notes:
"DépôtArtGallery created
the" EVASIONS" initiative to promote Greek visual artists and their
art work abroad, bringing them in touch and dialogue with foreign artists,
which ensures the osmosis between the Art trends that today mark contemporary
Art under one global and borderless perspective. A practice that will eventually
allow all artists, regardless of their nationality, to “escape” and communicate
their work internationally, which is imperative in the globalized era we live
in.

This is an ambitious project that
will try to impose the quality and originality of its proposals and
combinations both in the capitals and in the major artistic centers of Europe
and beyond, arguing that Art has neither borders nor limits .
Within this framework, the first
EVASION # 1 getaway will be held from February 21 to March 4, 2018 in Paris,
hosted at Espace Christiane Peugeot, a distinguished and undisputed space of
modern art and artistic expression.
It is a project that combines a
group exhibition of Greek and foreign artists, a solo exhibition and events
during their duration (concerts, performances, etc.)
Art has many faces as music, poetry,
dance, literature, theater which are in a continuous complementary relationship
with the visual arts. A relationship that has the ultimate purpose of exalting
our soul and spirit, thereby contributing to our personal escape from reality
and everyday life. "
Concerning her solo exhibition
titled DANCE ME the visual artist Peny Manavi notes:
“My artworks are inspired by
fertility and natures organic forms and biodiversity. In my paintings one finds
flowers, insects, sea depths and recently animals and reptiles. I focus on
detail on my subjects and discover a new perspective of things. In my work one
often detects the joy of life that coexists with the darkness of death. I am
fascinated by peculiar color combinations and texture which I discover in
nature and enhance, reflecting my optimistic view. My paintings have dynamic
color expressionism features and elements of abstract expressionism as I use
gesture and dripping that attributes movement and rhythm. I use oil colors and
printing ink on canvas. “
