Christos
Tzivelos' first retrospective exhibition with the title "Modelling Phenomena"
will be presented at the Benaki Museum (Piraeus 138) until
Sunday, February 18, 2018.
Christos
Tzivelos (1949-1995) identified his personal interest in art through the mental
and handmade processing of nature. The exhibition of Christos Tzivelos presents
the most important moments of his visual production, highlighting his less
well-known but also unknown aspects.
The
exhibition at the Benaki Museum underscores its relation to semiology, Greek
mythology, philosophy, alchemy, cosmology. At the same time, he outlines
different stages of his work, emphasizing the three-dimensional incinerators
with which he became more widely known.
The artist
has been using light as a raw material since 1983.
Tzivelos connects
the light with the myth of the creation of the universe, and indirectly with
cosmology and the Big Bang, since light and fire are identical.
Tzivelos left
behind an important sculptural work that distinguishes originality, coherence
and maturity. As an epic artist and bequeathing thought images that still offer
intense thrills.
