Lady Gaga
admits new film role and acting career has helped her battle mental illness
The singer believes
that acting and her new film role helped her battle mental illness.
Lady Gaga
has taken medication for depression and anxiety for several years but admitted
her recent role in hit TV show American Horror Story: Hotel has been incomparable
in battling her issues.
She told
The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I'm an actress now and that helps a lot.
"I've
tried a lot of things but there is something about acting that has really
helped. I'm a Stefani-Gaga hybrid and I want you to know the real me."
However,
creating the Emmy-winning show certainly wasn't stress-free as she was
terrified she wouldn't be good enough, causing her to be physically ill.
According
to newspaper, she added: "I was very nervous. All I have is my preparation
time and Jesus to save me from possibly screwing this up."
